Layer 4 was deposited
Layer 5 was deposited
Intrusion 2 formed
Earth cracked at fault B
Layer 6 was deposited
Layer 1 was deposited
Intrusion 3 formed
(Top happened first, Bottom happened last)
I chose this order because of Principal of Initial Horizontality and Principal of Superposition.

Your order is correct. However, I need more specifics as to how you did it. For example, you could say "I know 2 is younger than 4 and 5 because it cuts through them." You can do this for comparisons of many of the layers.
ReplyDeleteI can tell 3 is the youngest because it cuts through everything and is not overlapped by any layer. Layer 1 is the second oldest because it lays on top and has only layer 3 cutting through it. Then, it is layer 6. Layer 6 is below layers 3 and 1 but is above the rest. Next is the Fault B. It shifts all of the layers older than it. Layer 5 was deposited before that, only layer 4 is below it and every intrusion so far has cut through it. Lastly, I can tell 4 is the oldest because it is the lowest layer numbered and is not cutting through anything.
